The Circle Ibadan is a community platform built for Ibadan and the wider Nigeria. We help neighbours stay informed, stay safe, buy and sell locally, recommend trusted artisans, form interest-based groups, and — for those who want it — meet in person at our curated gatherings.
What we do
The Circle Ibadan started as a private social community in Ibadan in 2024. In 2026 we expanded into a full neighbourhood hub so that any resident of Ibadan or Nigeria — not just members of our social community — can benefit from a warmer, more useful digital front door for their street, estate and city.
- News. Headlines and excerpts curated every 30 minutes from trusted Nigerian outlets — Premium Times, Punch, The Guardian, Vanguard, Channels TV and more. Filterable by state.
- Alerts. Power outages, road closures, security notes and other neighbourhood-relevant safety alerts, mapped and time-stamped.
- Marketplace. A place for neighbours to buy, sell and give away locally — furniture, electronics, vehicles, services.
- Recommendations. The good vulcaniser, the honest mechanic, the tailor who actually delivers on time — crowd-sourced from your area.
- Groups. Interest-based communities around movies, music, food, tech, fitness, faith and more.
- The Room (18+). A separate, curated adult social community with private Thursday gatherings and activities.
Who runs this
The Circle Ibadan is independently operated from Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a subsidiary of any news publisher whose headlines appear on our News tab. All news articles link out to their original source.
How we make money
The neighbourhood hub is free. We support the platform with a small membership fee on The Room (our adult social community) and with display advertising on the neighbourhood side of the site. Our news content is aggregated as headline + short excerpt with links back to the source — we do not reproduce full articles.
