The Circle Ibadan ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account & application data: name, email, phone, age, gender, occupation, Instagram handle, photos and the answers you submit in your membership application.
• Payment data: processed by our payment partner (Stripe/Paystack). We never see or store full card details.
• Event & activity data: RSVPs, event check-ins, posts, comments, chat messages and reports you submit.
• Technical data: IP address, device, browser, pages visited and basic analytics.
• Cookies: see "Cookies" below.

2. How we use your information

• To review and approve your membership application.
• To run events, RSVPs, check-ins and member-only spaces.
• To send transactional emails (approvals, receipts, event reminders).
• To moderate the community and enforce our rules.
• To comply with our legal obligations in Nigeria.

3. Legal basis

We process your data based on (a) your consent, (b) the contract between us when you join, and (c) our legitimate interest in running a safe, curated community.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with: our payment processor, our email delivery provider, our cloud hosting provider, and law enforcement when legally required.

5. Storage & retention

Data is stored on secured infrastructure. Application data is kept while your membership is active and for up to 24 months after termination unless a longer period is required by law.

6. Your rights under NDPR

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@thecircleibadan.fun. We respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for sign-in and security, and optional cookies for analytics. You can manage your preferences at any time via the cookie banner. See our cookie banner for details.

8. Children

The Circle Ibadan is strictly 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 and will delete such accounts if discovered.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
